On 1st April, 2020, we held a meeting of the Brigstock Beer Festival committee where the main topic was
CoVid 19 and its impact on this year's event.
After some debate, we have decided that we WILL try to run an event this year on September 18th -19th. This is, of course, subject to following the latest government advice on public gatherings and the state of the pandemic, and will have to be reviewed in the run up to the Festival. If the situation remains a potential risk to festival-goers then obviously we will have to postpone, but we are hopeful that by September we can put on a festival that will allow people to enjoy the end of Summer in style.
So to all village groups who participate, get your thinking heads on and lets make it our best Festival yet! The theme is Caribbean, and if you have any ideas on running a stall or providing entertainment, please get in touch with Justin, Chris Allen or members of the committee with your ideas.
We hope to see you all in the late Summer sunshine, but in the meantime, please Stay Safe.
The Brigstock Beer Festival rolls on into 2020 with a new theme, bringing with it new beers, new flavours and some great new entertainment. This year looks a little further south with a Caribbean theme. Expect steel drums, reggae, ska and some fantastic Caribbean flavours as we see off the summer in style!
All profits go to charitable causes and this year we are pleased to announce that our main charity will be PASIC Cancer Support for Children and Young People , a fantastic East Midlands charity that supports families and carers of children with cancer.
We have a new chairman, Justin Mumford, and many new ideas planned for this year, so we hope to see you again - details will follow as we progress towards the Festival date, so watch this space.
Update on Last Year's Festival
Last years 'Good Ol' USA' theme festival raised a maginficent £3300 for local charities, our main recipient being the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. So a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported last year.
PASIC - Our Main Charity for 2020
This year, as always, all profits generated will go to charity. Our main recipient will be the wonderful PASIC Cancer Support for Children and Young People. PASIC provide emotional, social and practical support to families of children and young people with cancer living in the East Midlands to improve the quality of their lives.
They support the whole family and offer the means to build support networks and reduce isolation to help make a positive difference to families coping with childhood cancer. As a parent led charity, their experience working with families over the past 40 years means they understand the needs of families and the difficulties they face. For many parents and children, they are a social lifeline at what can be a traumatic and isolating time.
Please come and enjoy the festival, but while you are here remember these groups who work tirelessly for their causes and please give generously.
Since our first festival in 2005, we have raised over £87,500, with the main recipients being Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, the Kettering General Hospital Childrens Special Care Unit, Kettering's Bladder and Bowel Foundation, Lakelands Hospice and Headway. In addition we have raised funds for other local groups, helped fund the bridge over the brook and smaller projects such as a new park bench at the cemetery and a new village notice board. So once again a HUGE thank you to all who have attended and donated towards these worthy causes!
Sponsor the Brigstock Beer Festival
Sponsorship is a great way for local businesses to promote themselves and give something back to the local community by supporting charities working in the area.
We have several options available including the ever popular sponsorship a barrel of ale for £110. Sponsoring a barrel enters you into a raffle to become the main sponsor for the entire event. This guarantees you maximum exposure at the event itself, promotion in all our publicity material and local press coverage. This is a great way to win a sponsorship package that would cost many times more to buy directly.
As well as a chance to be our main sponsor, barrel sponsorship buys you space in our programme, your company's name on the barrel and tasting notes and 2 tickets to our Saturday night music night with 2 pints of your chosen beer to sample.
Other options include an advert in our programme starting at just £25 for a small advert up to a full page advert for just £75.
So if you feel you would like to assist, either financially or with your time or services, please contact us - We would love to hear from you.
